Hi Everyone, I hope you have had a restful and fun summer vacation. It is almost Band Camp time! Please plan ahead and spend some time off the couch before camp. It will be HOT, we are practicing in warmer weather to prepare for our September and October competitions. I have a working calendar posted with most of our competition and football game dates with more date confirmations coming soon. South Columbus High School Marching Band Camp It is time again to prepare for next year’s marching band season. In order for us have a successful and winning season we must take steps to help get our band get started early. We will be having our annual band camp on June 13-16 from 8am- noon and August 14-18 from 4 - 8pm .  This camp is completely free and will be held in the SCHS band room. Students will need outdoor clothing, instruments and water for camp.  It is very important that students attend band camp, during this time we learn show music, football music and their position in this year field show. Students who do not attend camp will be very far behind and may not be able to catch up, please make every effort to attend.   If you have summer school just come to camp on days you can attend.  Before camp please fill out our Emergency contact forms so we can be aware of any allergies or health concerns.   Emergency Contact Form   ...

Welcome Back! Calendar Updates for this week 5/5 Friday During School @ WCHS Strawberry Festival Concert 5/6 Saturday  noon call time - Strawberry Fest Parade Spring Concert: 5/30 Tuesday Need Extra Credit??  For every 20 min practice session this week you can earn 40 extra points   

No Quiz this week. Check Powerschool for Progress report Grades. Let me know if you need a paper copy. If you need make up time from week 9 or 10 Quiz you can make up time before school or during lunch Monday-Wednesday this week. 20 points for each 20 min practice session. Don't forget to bring in your Folder or notebook for your warm-up packet

Monday- accreditation visits -optional  Air Force band field trip: meet at schs at 4:50pm bus leaves at 5. Fast food stop on the way and return around 10:30pm - I have interviews after school with the accreditation board so you can not stay after sorry Parents and Students please be checking you PowerSchool account for grades. Progress report grades are up to date.  Don't wait until it's too late, makeup options and extra credit options available. If you have any question or concerns feel feee to contact me during my office hours/planning  from 11:10am-1:00 pm. Week 10 Quiz - 20 min practice and record concert C thirds - if you have not completed week 9 practice make sure you get it done before class on Tuesday. Don't forget to bring your notebook for a new warmup packet this week Also  Because of visitors, no lunch practice on Monday.

Great job at CTA! This week we will be working on preparations and plans for the middle school visit/recruitment day next week.   Leadership intent form Anyone who is interested in a leadership position next year please fill out the above intent form. Student leaders can be in any grade level and are chosen based on ensemble need and previous class participation. Please note that just because you were previously in a leadership role does not mean you will be in one next year it is not because you did not do a great job it may simply be because our needs have changed. Student leaders will be chosen based on what is best for the ensemble. This weeks quiz is a 20min practice or sectional out side of class. No recordings due this week.
